Driver (Transportation Industry)

In addition to caregiving, construction, and food manufacturing, we provide occupation-specific training tailored to sectors facing labor shortages in Japan. Our practical training emphasizes Japanese language skills, industry-specific terminology, and workplace rules, enabling trainees to perform effectively from the early stages of employment.  

Career & Work Information

Training Focus:

  • Japanese traffic rules, road signs, and driving etiquette
  • Industry-specific Japanese language and technical terms
  • Preparation for foreign driver’s license conversion
  • Pass the Japanese language exams required for employment

Visa Type: TITP / SSW (Specified Skilled Worker – Transportation)

Stay Duration:

  • TITP: Generally 3 years per training stage, extendable by switching to SSW Type 1
  • SSW: Up to 5 years total

Future Path:

  • Career progression in Japan’s transportation sector
  • Opportunity to switch from TITP to SSW for longer-term employment
  • Possibility of long-term stay after gaining experience under SSW

At Meihoku Training Center, we learned Japanese and about life in Japan. The teachers were strict but friendly, and students were grouped by language level for easier learning. A native Japanese teacher was also available, and some lessons were explained in Nepali. The center’s rules and schedules gave us valuable experience before coming to Japan.

Dormitory life at Meihoku Training Center was even better than I expected. I believe that a good environment and comfortable accommodation are essential to study, and Meihoku provided both. The way the teachers taught Japanese was also excellent. Thanks to their support, I was able to study Japanese effectively and fulfill my dream of coming to Japan.

I think Meihoku Training Center is a great place. The teachers taught Japanese in a way that was easy for us to understand, and they had good personalities.
